Choose how much goes
Each level adds to the last. Levels 1 to 3 leave chatbots alone.
Level 1: Hide features
Hide supported AI Overviews, sidebars, summaries, and prompts inside web pages.
Level 2: Mute AI talk
Also collapse posts matching the AI word list into gray bars. Choose Show to read one.
Level 3: Use declared labels
Also hide images and posts with declared AI labels, plus known AI content farms. Unlabeled content can stay.
Level 4: Blackout
Also block listed AI domains, including chatbots and generators. Browser blocking stays in the browser.
Blackout blocks AI tools you may use. It is optional.
What AI Off promises
No AI inside
AI Off uses rules and labels. It does not detect, judge, or learn.
No telemetry
No analytics or browsing reports. Rule and service requests appear on the privacy page.
Pause when needed
Pause AI Off if a site looks wrong. Hidden browser content returns when switched back.
Open code and rules
Read the MIT-licensed code and rules. Review a report before submitting it.
A few fair questions
Does AI Off hide every AI image?
No. Level 3 reads declared labels and known lists. Unlabeled content can stay visible. AI Off does not guess how something was made.
Does Blackout block chatbots?
Yes, listed chatbots and generators. Levels 1 to 3 leave chatbots alone. Network blocking needs a separately configured list or DNS service.
Can something be turned back on?
Flip the browser switch, pause one site, or pause for 15 minutes. Muted posts have a Show button. School policy may lock these controls.
Does AI Off change phone settings?
No. Phone checklists show settings to change yourself. Browser extensions act inside supported browsers. Check downloads for release availability and phone checklists for device limits.
What does AI Off cost?
The whole browser extension is free forever. Paid plans add the desktop companion and optional sync when available. See pricing and availability.
